In Lewiston, Maine, authorities have reported that a 10 month old drowned. They say that the drowning appears accidental and are calling the case tragic.
In an interview with the Sun Journal of Lewiston, Maine State Police Lt. Brian McDonough said that Rene Cloutier died Sunday at a Portland hospital. After arriving at the hospital, Rene's life support was removed.
Officers say that the boy's mother, Natasha Bean, had been giving him a bath on Saturday night when she was interrupted by a neighbor. She said that she had left the boy for a few minutes unattended and when she returned, he was underwater.
Police took the boy to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston and he was then transferred to Maine Medical Center and placed on life support.
