Dr. Frank Ryan Dead after Auto Accident

In the city of Los Angeles, police are investigating a car accident that killed celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan.  Police say that they are trying to find out if texting or tweeting play a role in the doctor's death.

California Highway Patrol officer Steve Reid said Wednesday, "We haven't confirmed anything regarding the cause of the collision."  He also said that they are looking into several factors that include text messaging and twittering which may have played a role in the accident.

Ryan's last post to his twitter account was dated Monday at 4:10 PM. He had posted earlier that he hiked to the top of a sand dune near the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

Police found the doctor's 1995 Jeep Wrangler off the side of the PCH near Malibu. The vehicle had landed on its roof and a motorist who had witnessed the accident called for help.

Ryan was only 50 years old and had made headlines for performing multiple surgeries on celebrity clientele including musician Vince Neil and model Adrianne Curry.
