Tractor Trailer Drives Right into House

In Santa Barbara, it is reported that on August 24th a fully loaded gravel truck veered off a highway on Tuesday and crashed into a house, killing a man, woman and a child.  The Los Angeles Times reported that the identities of the people killed were not immediately identified and that response crews were searching the house for a possible fourth victim.

According to police, the driver of a double tractor-trailer truck was traveling south on Hwy. 154 when he crashed into four other vehicles and then traveled down the driveway directly into the house.  Police say that the house was completely destroyed upon impact and that they found a man and a woman dead at the scene of the accident.  After an hour of searching the scene, they found a child's body.

Police used dogs to search the house for a fourth person who they believe may have been inside although neighbors say they saw that person leave on a bicycle prior to the collision.

The driver of the truck was treated at the scene of the accident for minor injuries.
