Major Auto Accident Happens on 10 Freeway

The westbound lanes finally reopened on 10 Freeway in South Los Angeles after a multi-car accident killed one woman. Police are still unsure as to what caused the 4:45 AM accident that injured three other people near Crenshaw Boulevard.  A spokesman from the Los Angeles Fire Department stated that one person received serious injuries while the other two only had minor injuries.

One of the vehicles involved in the crash was engulfed in flames when members of the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene; it is unclear, however, whether the deceased woman was in the car when she died.

Officer Francisco Villalobos reported that the two left lanes of the freeway were open to traffic again at 8:40 AM while the remaining three were reopened at 9:30 AM.
