12 Year Old Dies during Tragic Auto Accident

Tragedy struck the Millwood Township today when a 12-year-old girl lost her life in a car accident last week. The single car accident occurred on County Road 35 when Frank Luna, 34, lost control of his pickup truck on the icy road. The little girl was ejected from the truck before it wound up in a ditch.

While she was treated at the scene for her injuries, she later died at Melrose Hospital. Officers report that she was not wearing her seat belt while riding in the pickup truck.

Five more passengers are reported to have been in the pickup truck, although have reported injuries. The crash is still under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.
