Alleged Street Racers Appeal Car Accident Case
In the case of legal battles, it can often take months, if not years, to get a resolution in court. That was the situation in an appeal filed California by two men convicted of killing three people in a street race.
The two suspects brought their case before the court stating that their convictions of second-degree murder should be overturned. After hearing the appeal from their lawyers, the three-judge panel ruled against overturning the lower court's decision. At that time, the lower court heard the case which involved street racing and the death of a young mother and her children who were allegedly hit and killed due to the defendants' actions.
At the time of the car accident, the 40-year-old woman had her 4-year-old daughter and her 8-year-old son in her vehicle. The impact of the crash was so great that it caused the vehicle to burst into flames, trapping all three victims inside. All three lost their lives as a result of the collision.
