Biker Hit and Killed by Driver on Way Home from Work

A man riding his bicycle home from work was struck and killed by a hit and run driver.

At this time officers with the Los Angeles Police Department Traffic Division have little information to go on. There appear to be no witnesses to the accident, making it nearly impossible to figure out who is responsible for this bicycle accident. What they do know is that the 32-year-old male victim was heading north toward Venice when the vehicle hit him from behind. The vehicle that hit the victim should also show a significant amount of damage to its front end.

His body was discovered around 2:30 a.m. when a passing motorist called 911 to report it. When emergency medical technicians arrived, they declared him dead on the scene. His name will not be released to the public until the next of kin has been notified. One of the investigating officers, Sgt. David Podesta, commented that the victim was wearing dark clothing in a dimly lit section of the highway.
