Driver Hits Mother and Child

Tragedy struck outside of the Los Angeles Artwalk last weekend when a driver pressed on the accelerator, instead of the brake, and ran into a mother and her child.

According to one source, the mother was pushing her child in a stroller through the crowded walkway when a Cadillac car jumped the curb and struck them both. Although the two-month-old infant was transported to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries the next day.

The Los Angeles Police Department is still investigating the car accident, but no charges have been pressed against the driver of the Cadillac. While no additional information is being released by the LAPD, initial reports show that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The infant was later identified and the mother's condition is undetermined at this time.
