Girl May Lose Eyesight after Illegal Fireworks
A little girl could permanently lose sight in one of her eyes after being injured by an illegal firework.
According to Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, the 12-year-old victim was standing in front of her home when someone lit a "firecracker-life" device. That person was standing near her and wound up lighting it near her face. When it was ignited, it went into her right eye, causing serious injuries.
Although she was taken immediately to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, doctors there believe that she may never regain sight in that eye. Despite working through the night to save her sight, time will tell whether the little girl will ever see out of her right eye again.
