Fatal Truck Accident Trial to Begin Next Week

Two years after the truck accident that took the life of two people on Crest Highway, the trial for Marcos Costa will begin next week.

The suspect, 46-year-old Costa, has been charged with the murder of Angel Posca and his daughter, who was just 12 years old when she died. The two had been driving on the highway when Costa smashed his truck into their car, along with several more, at the Foothill Boulevard terminus. He also drove through a storefront after striking the cars.

Costa's attorney, Edward Murphy, issued a comment last week, "We're ready to go, and I expect the jury to find Mr. Costa not guilty of all the charges. This was a horrible accident, and that's what is was - an accident." When Costa appeared in court last week, both sides informed the judge that they were prepared to select the jury this week.
