Group of Cyclists Receive Terrible Surprise in L.A.
A group of cyclists out for a midnight ride got a terrible surprise in downtown Los Angeles.
Police reports show that a group of nearly 100 bicyclists were interrupted when they were hit by a white Honda Civic. According to responding Officer Jacquelyn Abad, 11 bicyclists were injured and one is in critical condition, although is expected to live. The driver, 27-year-old Christine Elizabeth Dahab, was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence. She is now being held on $15,000 bail at a Los Angeles jail.
Eyewitness reports also show that Abad was using a cell phone just before causing the multi-bicycle accident. One witness to the terrible accident, Alex Zamora, said that "everybody got dragged like a bowling ball" by the car before it came to a stop.
If you are injured in a bicycle accident, don't sit at home and wait for someone to help you.
