Names of Boat Accident Victims Released

After investigating a tragic boating accident, police in California finally released the names of the three victims.

Police reports show that the three women were riding a jet ski in a reservoir when it ran into a powerboat. All three women – a 34-year-old woman, her 59-year-old mother and a 59-year-old friend – were killed instantly. Four of the passengers on the powerboat sustained serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals.

In order to better understand what might have caused the accident, police are working with an accident re-creation specialist. This specialist, on loan from the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, hopes to uncover what caused the accident and who was to blame. While the driver of the boat was not intoxicated at the time, it is still uncertain whether the three women were at the time of the boat accident.
