Two Motorcycle Accidents Happen within Close Time Frame
Two motorcycle accidents occurred within an hour of each other on the same California freeway during an annual fundraiser to support autism research. The accidents occurred while the charity motorcycle ride was taking place on the same freeway, though officials do not know whether or not the riders were participating in the charity event.
The first accident involved two motorcycles and several cars. Investigators are still trying to determine what exactly caused the accident that left two motorcyclists injured. The extent of the motorcyclist's injuries was not known at the time of the report. Less than an hour later and possibly due to the traffic build-up caused by the first accident, a second motorcycle crash occurred on the same freeway. A motorcycle crashed into a truck and the two passengers on the motorcycle, a male driver and his female passenger, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Together the two accidents cause three northbound lanes of the freeway to be closed for more than three hours while both accidents were investigated and cleared.
