Auto Accident Victim Recounts Story of Survival
Luck is certainly on the side of one man who by all measures should have died in a serious car accident earlier this month.
The man had been driving his car near Los Angeles, California when his vehicle went off an embankment. He plunged down 200 feet where he was trapped in a ravine for six days. When he was finally discovered, he was rushed to an intensive care unit where he was treated for a back injury and broken ribs. Thanks to immediate surgery, the man is supposed to make a full, albeit slow, recovery.
News sources say that the efforts of several of his family members, local law enforcement and a search-and-rescue team paid off.
Following the crash, the victim spoke about surviving by eating leaves and bugs, drinking water from a creek and spending each cold night in his car. He said that since he was so far down in the ravine nobody could hear his cries for help.
