Drunk Driver Had Six Kids in Car
News sources say that a mother of four overturned her sports utility vehicle on a local street early on a Sunday morning with six children in her car. The woman had attended a wedding the night before and had just picked up the children from a caretaker. She was apparently intoxicated and on her way home with the children when she lost control of the vehicle, turning the car on its side.
The woman and several of the children were moderately injured during the crash. Allegedly, she was trying to remove the children from the vehicle when emergency medical services arrived on the scene. The woman's two-year-old foster child lost his foot during the accident and her four-year-old girl also suffered major head injuries as a result of the crash. The other children in the drunk driving accident including a niece of the woman were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The two severely injured children were airlifted to the local hospital.
Officials are currently investigating how fast the woman was driving when she lost control of her vehicle. She faces charges of driving while under the influence as well as child endangerment.
