Murder Victim's Mother Files Wrongful Death Suit
The mother of a young woman who was murdered and dismembered in 2010 has filed a civil suit against several men that she believes escaped criminal charges in relation to her daughter's death.
The wrongful death lawsuit alleges that the pregnant young woman's husband and two of his friends strangled the woman with a dog leash, shot her, and smashed her head with a hammer to prevent her from reporting their illegal marijuana growing business. The men then allegedly dismembered the woman's body, encased her in cement, and threw her off a bridge.
After the horrendous murder the husband was charged but committed suicide in jail before he could be prosecuted on the charge of murder for financial gain. The civil suit also alleges that the man's father and a doctor friend of the family illegally and intentionally failed to report an instance of domestic assault prior to the young woman's murder. The doctor treated the man for injuries he sustained while purposefully driving into his wife with his truck, and the doctor failed to report the incident as he was required to by state law.
