Toddler Attacked by Pitbull
A pitbull is believed to have bitten a young boy in the face causing serious injuries.
According to local reports, the young boy was walking with his father when the dog attacked. The dog allegedly bit the 2-year-old on the right side of his face and starting shaking the boy vigorously. The dog's owner and the boy's father attempted to get the dog to release the child, but the dog refused. It wasn't until the father got a knife and started stabbing the dog that it relented and let go.
Shortly after the dog bite incident, the boy was brought to a local hospital and then flown to a specialty children's hospital. There he was taken immediately into surgery to repair the damage done to his face.
Police later learned that the dog's owner took the animal to be euthanized at a veterinarian clinic. The owner himself suffered minor injuries while trying to free the child from the dog.
