Single Car Accident Takes Motorist's Life

Tragedy struck on one California highway when a single car accident took the life of one man and injured another.

The two men were riding in a luxury vehicle when the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a power pole. According to reports, the force of the collision ejected both men from the car. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene while the second victim was transported a local hospital where he was listed as being in critical condition.

At this time, the police department is not releasing the names of the victims until the next of kin have been notified. The car accident itself is still under investigation.

Police say that as a result of the crash, several power lines were torn down and both sides of the highway had to be shut down for several hours as emergency crews repaired the downed lines.
