Three teenagers are lucky to be alive after their vehicle completely rolled over last week in Santee, California. Two of their classmates were killed in the accident that is being blamed on inexperienced driving and possibly marijuana. The five students were returning from a party at the beach when the driver lost control of the vehicle. Two of the students, an 18-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, were declared dead at the scene of the car accident. The driver, an 18-year-old male, sustained minor injuries while two of his passengers received serious to life-threatening injuries. He has since been taken into custody on charges of being under the influence of marijuana.
Upon completion of their investigation, however, the California Highway Patrol could press additional charges against the teenager as well. Police later learned that the driver was racing with another vehicle after leaving the party. The two cars are believed to have reached speeds over 100 MPH while the drivers were impaired.
